Maple Ridge’s facilities department keeps trying to find ways to save energy and money as it maintains, parks, buildings and pools throughout the district.
One recent project, just completed, involved putting white, insulated reflective panels on the roof of the RCMP building to reflect back the sun’s rays and reduce air conditioning costs in the warm months.

As you drive through Richmond BC heading North on Highway 99 you will notice a new Living Green Wall on the Richmond Mini building.
This Living Green Wall features plants in the form of a honeybee flying over the green fields of Richmond. Off to the right of the bee is the sun that will eventually identify itself as the plants mature.

Intercoast recently completed an Evergreen Vertical Green Wall system at 700 W. 8th Avenue in Vancouver. Aretha design of the wall system was done in collaboration with Henrique’s Partners Architects and Philips Smallberg Landscape Architects.
This vertical green wall features a wide variety of plants with green foliage which will tolerate cold weather conditions on the NE corner of the building.
